Words cannot express how remarkable the family and students are here at Rothschild.  Each year we are truly amazed at the support our library receives.  The hard work and dedication that students put into the readathon is a true symbol of the passion students have towards reading, books, and our facility.

This year we saw a lot of records being broken! Our goal was to raise $3,000 and once again the students not only met my expectations but surpassed it by raising $5,800!  Truly incredible!  In addition, a record 181 students participated and read over 5,300 books – another record! Parents, we couldn't have done it without you, your support and encouragement.  Your child(ren) are remarkable and we are  so proud of each and every one of them!

You may now be wondering what will happen with this money.  We always use about 20-25% of the money raised for prizes and rewards for the participants.  This would include participant ribbons, medals, gift cards, and trophies given out.  Money has been set aside to purchase a number of Chromebook computers along with many of the books on students’ wish lists.  With what is left over, money will be spent on prizes for the Raptor Reading Club, enhancements to our library facility, and bringing another author to visit our school.

We couldn't have done this without you!

We are in our final few days of the read-a-thon.  While I never know how it is going to turn out, I do know that the students have been reading!

I can't wait to start seeing all the books read coming in!

I'm so excited about our new blog.  I hope that it is easy to navigate around and that you will enjoy all that it has to offer!
